Colobus monkeys live high in the trees and are not easy to see.
As we walked down the trail, our guide explained that the second most common type of monkey in the forest was the black and white colobus. Unlike the mona, the colobus is almost completely arboreal, feeds on leaves and is extremely shy. They never approach humans to accept food. Sightings of the colobus monkeys are much more infrequent.
We were lucky enough to see a couple of them far up in the trees. I would never have seen them had the guide not pointed them out to me. Without the zoom, they were just a speck.
I managed to get two photos before they skittered out of sight.
Further down the trail, we came across this impressive sight.
