Day 2 of the Ghana road trip ends with
a dip in the ocean and a great night’s sleep.
Although there are many strong and dangerous currents along this stretch of the ocean, I had read there was one safe spot at the Ko-Sa beach to swim, where the rocks provided a natural breakwater. I was eager to go for a dip in the ocean. And that’s exactly all I did.
An angry wave knocked me off my feet. I was now sitting down, completely wet and cooled off. It felt good, but the good feeling didn’t last. The next wave almost carried me further into the sea. I got up and got out immediately.
Stanley later told me he heard from one of the staff at Ko-Sa that a young boy had drowned further down the beach the previous day.
The Ko-Sa kitchen.
I had a very comfortable night’s sleep here, and would highly recommend the Ko-Sa Beach Resort as a great place to stay.
