We drew near to Cape Coast, where there was still big love on display for President Obama.
There’s a huge cell phone war going on here with Vodafone, MTN, Tigo and Zain the major combatants. Plastering posters all over the place is one of their tactics.
Cape Coast was to be the first major stop for today. There was a festival I had come here to see: Fetu Afahye. I had been told before leaving the States that it had been cancelled this year, but I wanted to see the Cape Coast fortress anyway.
The cancellation was untrue, but the road was blocked about a half kilometer from town, maybe more. Since I was already under the impression that Fetu Afahye had been cancelled, turning around and leaving wasn’t much of a disappointment.
